On March 26, the New York City Policy Forum and the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies hosted a panel about the importance of enforcement in making the city’s new labor laws a reality for workers. The panel brought together union leaders and the Commissioner of the Department of Consumer & Worker Protection to discuss how to catalyze the conjuncture of ground-breaking legislation and a newly energized DCWP.

The event featured Bhairavi Desai (Executive Director, New York Taxi Workers Alliance), Sam Levine (Commissioner, Department of Consumer and Worker Protection), Rich Maroko (President, NY Hotel & Gaming Trades Council), and Izzy Melendez (Vice President, SEIU Local 32BJ), and was moderated by Stephanie Luce (Professor of Labor Studies at CUNY SLU).
